Steve Smith, CEO of GCommerce on the Value of Endless Aisles

Steven Smith, President, Founder and CEO

Prior to founding GCommerce, Steve Smith worked as an executive for 15 years in market leading global sales and marketing organizations, such as Dorian Drake International, McQuay-Norris World Trade Corporation and Iowa Export division of Ruan Corporation. For more than 10 years, Steve has been an active Angel investor in New York and the Upper Midwest, both as direct investor and Angel investment aggregator. He also actively participates in numerous board advisory positions for early stage technology companies, especially those targeting supply chain efficiencies. Steve remains active in numerous trade associations such as the Auto Care Association as well as the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) as a technology and supply chain expert.

Jason Popillion, Chief Information Officer / Chief Technology Officer

Jason Popillion is a 23 year veteran of information technology software development and IT management. Jason’s work at GCommerce has lead to three recent patent filings regarding the business process and technology implementation of EDI. Jason currently serves on the Leadership Team of the Auto Care Association Technology Standards Committee and is past chairman of the Web Services subcommittee.
Most recently Jason spearheaded the 1st of its kind, large-scale implementation of a Virtual Inventory Cloud, code named VIC, together with the Microsoft Business Productivity Department (BPD) Cloud Services team to address the drop ship special order problem in distribution supply chain markets. This initiative earned GCommerce the honor of being a top strategic Worldwide Partner to Microsoft Corp. for innovative solutions and thought leadership in the Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing model.
Jason was also the 2009 and 2011 recipient of the Technology Association of Iowa, Chief Information Officer of the Year award. Prior to GCommerce, Jason architected and developed an EDI and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for the State of Iowa that received 8 national awards including CIO’s top 100 innovations, Harvard Innovation, and Gartner–High Performance Workplace awards. In 2021, Jason earned the designation of Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP).
Jason is a graduate of William Penn University in Iowa and enjoys being an avid hunter and outdoorsman, coach to several youth basketball and baseball leagues and is the proud father of 7 children.

Rick Main, Chief Revenue Officer

Rick Main has over 30 years of automotive aftermarket experience in manufacturing, distribution, and technology.  Rick began his career with Federal-Mogul, and held a variety of positions in Sales and Finance throughout his 13 year career with the company.  Rick has also worked within the distribution side of the aftermarket with a heavy duty truck manufacturer, wholesale distributor, retailer, remanufacturer, and service provider, where Rick was involved with all facets of the business.  Rick has spent the last 18 years on the supply chain solutions side of the aftermarket with GCommerce, with a focus on adding value to the sales and procurement cycle between Manufacturers/Brand Owners, Distributors/Retailers, and Marketplaces/Online Retailers.  Rick is a graduate of the University of Michigan.  Go Blue!

Julie Oswalt, Chief Experience Officer

Julie Oswalt is responsible for all aspects of supporting GCommerce customers and clients post-production. She has more than 30 years in management and executive leadership roles primarily focused on customer service and operations.
Julie graduated from the Federal Aviation Academy and studied to be an air traffic control tower specialist. She is a firm believer in helping people identify and develop their strengths. She is active in many outside activities and volunteers routinely for JDRF, the Greater Des Moines Partnership as well as contributing time to entertain at various community venues.

Joe Stevens, VP of Client Services

Joe Stevens has been in distribution since 1995 when his first job out of college was working in a warehouse.  His push to look for technology and process solutions eventually put him a positions implementing Epicor and other distribution focused business systems before moving to a start-up helping distributors sell on Marketplaces.  Since 2013, Joe has worked in GCommerce’s Implementation Department where he’s now responsible for the implementation of all GCommerce’s products.
Joe is a graduate of Grinnell College which he credits with his frequent questioning of ‘why and how’.  He’s a dog person and enjoys cycling, reading, getting outdoors and spending time with his family.   He also serves on the Auto Care Association's Technology Standards Committee.

Scott Luckett, VP Industry Strategy

Scott Luckett is Vice President, Industry Strategy for GCommerce, Inc. where he has responsibility for industry partnerships and major account development. Previously, Scott rose through several positions at the Auto Care Association over 17 years and as CIO had responsibility for the Technology Standards Committee, the Telematics Task Force and the National Catalog Managers Association (NCMA). Before Auto Care, Luckett was an executive at a local automotive WD and prior to that was a top sales producer for Triad Systems (now Epicor). Scott is the current Chairman of the Auto Care Market Intelligence Committee. Scott is a graduate of Bucknell University and has been recognized for his commitment to education and training in the auto care industry with the University of the Aftermarket Founders’ Service Award.
