Integration and Partnership Enables Icas Distributors to send and receive
Electronic documents to/from Automotive Aftermarket Manufacturers
DOVER, NJ, and DES MOINES, IA, Mar 15, 2010 – Icas Computer Systems, Inc. and GCommerce Inc. have developed a joint electronic document interchange (EDI) solution that enables automotive aftermarket distributors, in both the U.S. and Mexico, to exchange electronic purchase orders (POs), acknowledgements, and advance shipping notices (ASNs) with hundreds of aftermarket manufacturers.
“This joint EDI solution enables much greater efficiencies for any distributor using a PaceSetter system,” said Dr. Rudy Ventker, President of Icas. “This will enable EDI for independent distributors not only in the U.S., but also in Mexico, and will improve efficiencies and profitability.”

EDI technology enables distributors to reduce the extra time and expense, as well as eliminate potential errors, associated with exchanging procurement documents/information via fax, voice communication, e-mail, or mail. The bundled solution from Icas and GCommerce enables the distributor to electronically generate and send purchase orders, and the manufacturer to send acknowledgements and ASNs, directly from/to their PaceSetter Systems. The new solution requires no additional hardware, translation software or monthly fees for the distributor.
